Who We Are
The Global Organisation for Transforming Lives through Education and Health Support, or The GOTLEHS, is a non-profit organisation working to close the gap in educational, health and economic outcomes for children and young people, including women living in poverty by expanding access to quality education and healthcare. The GOTLEHS aims to ensure that children and young people including women are not denied access to a quality education and health because of poverty.
Contribute
The GOTLEHS administers charitable activities and programs targeted towards providing school scholarships (The GOTLEHS scholarship), opportunities in STEAM education (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics) and quality healthcare access. Our projects support children and young people, including women living in poverty. The GOTLEHS is especially committed to transforming lives in Africa and some countries in Asia, Latin America, and the Middle East. For example, Nigeria is the largest country in Africa that is rich in culture and potential, but many families and young people face severe challenges and struggle with a lack of resources and opportunities. The GOTLEHS support would focus and prioritise on the poorest, and the most vulnerable individuals and people.

We aim to inspire and empower young people, investing in their potential and fostering a world where everyone is supported to thrive and build a successful future.

Our Mission

Our mission at GOTLEHS is to transform lives by empowering and supporting people to change their world. We focus on two fundamental pillars: education and health.

Founded in the legacy of Pa James Igwe Udah’s dream that every child, irrespective of background, should have the opportunity to be empowered and set up for success through education and healthcare access, we are on a mission to turn that dream into reality. Inspired by Pa James Igwe Udah’s unwavering passion, we believe that access to quality education and healthcare are essential components for the holistic development of individuals and the wellbeing of society.

Every aspect of our work is motivated by the principles and values of compassion, social justice, human rights, solidarity, and excellence and working to create a world where children and young people, including women and their families have opportunities to pursue their dreams through access to quality education, and health and overcome educational, health and economic inequality caused by poverty. Our dream is to transform lives and connect talented young people with skills to build businesses, engage in commerce/trade and contribute meaningfully to their society. We strive to help give young people pride, direction, and the opportunity to foster growth and a healthy future.

Vision and Goals

The GOTLEHS seeks to transform lives through education and health provision to people who are poor and vulnerable. We are committed to making a positive impact on children and young people, including women and their families by enabling them to realise their full potential. Our ultimate vision is to materially strengthen the socio-economic fabric of disadvantaged people.

Use access to quality education and healthcare as catalysts to:

Right now, not all children and young people get an equal start in life. Many are living in poverty, where even life’s basics are hard to come by. For a child living in poverty, your reality is grim.  Your family can’t make ends meet.  You’re missing out on things everyone else takes for granted.  You don’t have the help, the schoolbooks, or the support you need at home to keep up at school or get the best medical treatment. When people are experiencing financial disadvantage, they can fall behind with their learning and healthcare, leaving them more vulnerable to experiencing hardship themselves in the life.

Our goal is to establish and support schools and enhance healthcare access. We strive to inspire and create opportunities for children and young people, including women and encourage them to participate more fully in society, using education and health as key tool.  We strive to establish and support schools, provide scholarships, and implement educational and health programs that equip them with the knowledge and address healthcare disparities needed for a brighter future, human thriving, and collective flourishing.

Supporting children and young people, including women and their families using education and health is one of the best ways to improve lives and lift socioeconomic and wellbeing status, thereby, tackling poverty and inequality in all their dimensions.

The GOTLEHS operates both at the country level and at the global level. At the global level, the governance mechanisms include the Board of Directors, the Board Committees, and the Secretariat.
